THE BIG FEED 2019

30 years ago, we started the Big Feed because we saw that there was a great desperation in people during the time between Christmas and New Year’s. The very poor areas of Matamoros, Mexico, the people did not have much money to really celebrate Christmas, with no toys and very little food.

We decided to come in and have a big party where everyone received a nice meal, toys and candy for the kids and most importantly, we were able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are very excited about the Big Feed this year! It is being held in the Genesis Project in Matamoros, Mexico. Sometimes the weather is cold and rainy but it is always successful. We are expecting many people to come this year and will be barbecuing about 5,000 lbs of chicken. We will have a large 60*160 foot long tent in case of bad weather. It’s exciting for the people of that area and for us as well.

We need you to help turn chicken on the grills, distribute toys and candy to all the booths that local churches (approximately 125 churches) will be preaching the Gospel message of Jesus. There is something for everyone to do, from music, playing games, helping supply booths, help to build homes for the poor in the Genesis Project area, and help share the Gospel of Jesus.

If you would like to help but cannot attend the Big Feed, we need gift bag handouts donated. These are 1 gallon ziplock bags that we hand out to the kids. If your church or team would like to be involved in making and creating bags, please contact us via email at [email protected] or call Ben Butler at 956-793-9801 and we will provide you a list of items to put in the bags and what date we would need them by for the event.

This mission trip is for all ages, and all sizes of teams, including individuals. You will stay at our training center location, coming in on December 27th, 2019, where you will help us set up the area, work in our warehouse preparing for the event and then the day of the event, work the event. There is something for all ages.
